Kawarau River • Full Day Grade IV

The biggest day out on New Zealand White Water!

The Gorge run covers 15km of the spectacular Kawarau River including the infamous 'Chinese Dogleg' section and the rushing rapids of the 'Roaring Meg' section. This trip has it all with big Grade 4 rapids, big gourmet lunches and small group sizes. Available December 1st to December 24th and January 15th to March 31st during suitable river flows.

Minimum of 2 passengers required to confirm trip.

Meeting points
Wanaka - Log Cabin on the lakefront. Outside booking desk or at accommodation by arrangement.
Queenstown - At our shop on 39 Camp St or at accommodation by arrangement.
Clients with own transport - meet at Roaring Meg Power Station on State Highway 6 - 60 km from Wanaka, 45 km from Queenstown.
Meeting times - Wanaka - 8am
Queenstown - 8.15am
Roaring Meg Power Station - 8.50am
Xtras - Toilet facilities, locked gear storage, cooked lunch - hamburgers or vegeburgers, drinks, snacks and local fresh fruit.
Requirements - be strong swimmer and be confident in the water.
Operator comment - A full on, full day on the river. No previous experience required but water confidence and a good level of fitness is necessary to complete and enjoy this trip.
